There is Nothing More Thrilling than Hunting a Mature Bull Elk in Idaho!
In our research, we have found that non guided hunters are successful 7-12% of the time. This includes cows, calves, and bull harvested with gun and bow hunts everywhere. While outfitters across the west harvest bulls 17-21% annually, our actual harvest on branch antlered bulls is over 50%. Which is better than double the average! Every year, bulls between 350 and 400 B&C are harvested or seen in our area. Now, we agree that success hinges on various factors. A hunter’s physical condition, weather, and good ol luck, all play a major role in elk hunting. Our experienced guides and staff will do everything they can to get you on your trophy bull!
Our Elk Hunts are 7 days and fully guided & hunts take place out of the Historic Gilmore Ranch cabin, 20 mile camp site, Pitnear camp, and the Whitebird Summit Lodge.
Season is August 30th – September 30th $4,500.00 per hunter for two hunters with one guide $5,500.00 per hunter for one hunter with one guide.
We shoot only 5×5 bulls and bigger to ensure good bull recruitment and mature animals for the future. That is why we can respectfully state that we average 50% success on our guided rifle Idaho Elk hunts. The Gilmore Ranch hunt The Gilmore Ranch is an old homestead that sits on 500 private acres smack in the middle of our permitted operating area.
